Some good news and an apology!
Hi Everyone
First, some good news to say that SEG have now approved all our qualifications except for one - we are still waiting for them to find someone to check our Psychology offering. Also, we need a member of staff to undergo a further qualification before we can offer Education and Training L3 - so we are postponing this until January.
We can now offer the following courses:
L1 1 in Mental Health and Wellbeing - a short course that can take place over 2 or 4 sessions and will be offered in different formats throughout the academic year. This will include CPD to support mental health in the workplace. If you are curious or ready to take your first step into a career in mental health, counselling, health care, social care or any wellbeing-related activity. This would be a great start.
L2 in Essential Skills for Health Professionals - a 35-week course spanning the academic year. This is a Level 2 course, so it is aimed at those who are not quite ready to undertake an Access Course in Health or Psychology and want to sharpen their underpinning skills before going further. If you are returning to learning and want a career in health or mental health, this would be a good fit for you. After the course, we may be able to offer you a choice of pathways on Access courses, but if we can't, we will signpost you to someone who can.
You must be 16+ to start this course
Level 3 in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this course also spans an academic year. It would be useful CPD for anyone who works or wishes to work in the field of education at any level. It could be the first step into a variety of careers supporting children and young people with additional needs. For example:
SEN Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant
Foster Carer
Learning Mentor
* You must be 19+ to start this course
L2 & L3 Integrated Counselling Course, this course covers an entire academic year and is offered as a daytime or an evening course. It allows students to gain their qualifications quickly, as two are offered in the same class. The course would be useful to anyone intending to start a career in counselling or anyone who might use the skills as part of their job.
*You must be 18+ to start this course
We hope that before too long, we will be announcing the Psychology Level 4 & 5. We are as certain as we can be that it will run, but are still waiting on the exam board. You can still express an interest in the course and contact us to ask questions!
Contact us with suggestions: if there is a course that you would like to do that you think we might be able to offer, let us know!
Now for the apology!
We have had a couple of technical glitches, so anyone scanning our QR codes or trying to phone us may have been unable to get through. Both these issues have now been identified and rectified. If you didn't reach us by one of these means recently, please try again. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
